How to Choose the Perfect Hardware For Your Home
With nearly a century of perfecting their craft, luxury interior hardware experts Armac Martin know that the smaller design details make a big impact. Whilst the primary function of hardware is to allow you to open cabinet doors and drawers, there’s an art to finding the right pieces and in this article, Armac Martin guides us through how to choose the perfect hardware for your home.
Determine your style
We advise beginning the process by determining the theme of your decor. From there, you can focus on collections that suit your desired style and then choose the pieces most suited to each individual door and drawer.
Industrial-Style Hardware
Defined by clean lines, raw textures and bold colours, industrial hardware suits modern spaces that feature stripped-back interior details. Think bare bricks, reclaimed woods, metal pieces and minimal styling

Deco-Style Hardware
To elevate elegant interiors and achieve a timeless aesthetic, draw influence from the iconic shapes of 1920s architecture and opt for hardware that incorporates geometry and stepped-edge details to form each piece.

Country-Style Hardware
Inspired by farmhouse design, country-style interiors often feature muted pastels like sage green, a mix of rustic textures like linen and aged woods and a balance of old and new decor. When it comes to hardware, look for smooth shapes with a traditional feel.

Size matters
Consider the individual size of the pieces you choose; many of our cabinet handles and knobs come in a variety of sizes meaning that you can tailor the look to each individual cabinet whilst keeping a uniform look. We also have options for appliance door cabinets too, these are often much larger.
It’s all in the finish
The brass finish you choose will transform the look and feel of a piece of hardware. Explore the tones within the rest of your space and decide whether you want your hardware to blend with the scheme or create contrast. Burnished brass is great for a traditional appearance whereas matt black is ultra-contemporary.
Mix things up
In larger spaces, don’t be afraid to mix pieces from similar collections. This works best when you stick to the same finish and opt for pieces within the same family of shapes. Our Cotswold and Bakes collections are a great example, both showcasing a similar aesthetic.
