Career Pathway Programme

Empowering the next generation of diverse talent in the interior design industry

Applications open in Q2 of 2025

What is the Career Pathway Programme?

Inaugurated in 2020, the Career Pathway Programme by United in Design bridges the gap between education and industry. The program empowers young people of colour, often from disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing them with valuable opportunities in interior design— that might otherwise be out of reach.

This one-year paid internship provides placements across three to four organisations within the interiors ecosystem, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience, mentorship, training, and valuable networking opportunities to unlock their potential and foster greater inclusion in the industry.

Programme Pillars

    • Hands-on sessions with industry experts.

    • Access to cutting-edge design tools and techniques.

    • One-on-one guidance from experienced professionals.

    • Career coaching to help participants navigate challenges and opportunities.

    • Real-world experience through internships with top design firms.

    • Networking events to connect with potential employers.

    • A supportive network of peers and mentors.

    • Resources for personal and professional growth.

Who is it For?

The Career Pathway Programme is open to individuals aged 18 and above who identify as people of colour and are passionate about interior design.
