UNITED IN DESIGN APPRENTICESHIP GRADUATION
Back in 2020 Sophie Ashby and Alex Dauley set up United in Design to develop a diverse and inclusive culture within the design industry.

On 10th May 2022 we held the graduation ceremony for our first cohort of United in Design apprentice. We celebrated their completion of the apprenticeship and the businesses who guided, supported and nurtured them.
5 apprentice designers completed 12 months of top tier paid work experience and all five are now working within the industry.

It was great to meet the new apprentices and see the design practices’ supporting UID come together for the evening. I would like to say thank you to Eggersmann Design, De Rosee Sa, Brady Williams London and Clare Gaskin Interiors for each taking me on for 3 valuable months each.
I would like to also say thank you to everyone at Eggersmann Design for becoming my new home, and I can’t wait for what the future holds.”

As well as celebrating we also heard of their future plans and introduced the next cohort of amazing apprentices that we welcomed onboard for 22/23.
It was inspiring to hear of the successes of the United in Design apprentices from the Class of 21/22, all of whom have gone on to start successful careers in the industry, many with companies they worked for during their apprenticeship year.
· Derya – is now working full time at BOS Studio
· Isaac - is now working full time at Eggersmann Design
· Mercy – is now working full time as an interior architect at Hubert Zandberg
· Christine – is now working as a Junior Designer at Dufva Barreca Design.
· Roshu – is now working at Peter Mikic Interiors

It’s been an incredible start for United in Design and we couldn’t be more proud of our apprentices and what they have achieved or more grateful to all our supporter.
